William & Mary

William & Mary is a public research university based in Williamsburg, Virginia. Carnegie’s 2025 Research Activity Designations place the institution in the R1 group for very high research spending and doctorate production. Its official website brings together academic programs, admissions, research, campus life, library resources and health services.

The institution holds institutional accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Institutional accreditation concerns the university or college as a whole; individual professional programs may have additional accreditation requirements. Prospective students can use the official academic and admissions pages to check degree options, entry requirements, application procedures and current costs. University department and service pages provide the relevant contacts for more specific questions.
