U.S. Census Bureau

The U.S. Census Bureau's website provides access to official statistical information about the United States. Its resources include data tools, surveys, publications, and information about population, the economy, communities, and geographic areas.

Visitors can explore a topic or data product and find the documentation needed to understand the figures being used. The site is useful for original statistical research and for locating the appropriate dataset for a question. Individual products identify their period, geography, and methodology, which distinguish otherwise similar-looking figures.
